It is unacceptable of this need that in the mid-twentieth century, the internationally Diamond Grading System was developed by GIA and the 4Cs as a way to balance objectively and figure out diamonds.

it research  through GIA , imparts (through GIA Education), and  it applies (through the GIA laboratory and GIA Instruments) gemological  knowledge  to the public.  the Institute's scientists, diamond graders, and educators are regarded as the world's foremost authorities in gemology, with  1200 employees.

The Institute has distinguished internationally itself as the preeminent source of gemological education and professionalism.  The GIA Diamond Dossier and its diamond grading reports are studied to be the world's premier credentials of diamond quality. Most of the retailers give diamond certification, in spite of no report is as unbiased and complete as a GIA diamond grading report. Most of the Diamonds shapes and sizes are transported to the Institute from every corner of the globe for diamond grading and analysis.

GIA have been graded  Some of the  important  diamonds  including the Hope Diamond (45.52 carats), the Steinmetz Pink (59.60 carats), the Taylor-Burton  carat 69.42,  (101.29 carats) allnatt, the De Beers Millennium Star (203.04 carats), the Centenary (273.85 carats), and the Incomparable (407.48 carats).

Diamonds are remarkable strong, resistant to scratchy except by another diamond, and preserve their brilliant fire extremely well. Those qualities make a diamond well-suited to regular wear and are excellent for engagement and wedding rings that are usually worn every day.

But even a diamond isn't indestructible, which can be chipped by a pointed blow or become easy in its setting and fall out. A diamond should be worn with care.
In November 25, 2015- to address interest in the trade following GIA’s actions to nullify potentially altered grading reports, no cost conformation service for any diamond grading report will be offered by GIA from November 1, 2014 to October 31 2015. GIA must receive all requests for no cost update service by January 30, 2016.

Diamonds turn to pick up grease and oils, become messy with care and should be sometimes wiped with a lint-free cloth. Other methods for secure cleaning include hot water, mild soap, and a soft toothbrush or a commercial cleaning solution. It is not approved to use ultrasonic and steam cleaners.
Behind each beautiful piece of jewellery is an inspired designer. You can too excel in design with a diploma from the GIA.
CARAT WEIGHT:
For diamonds One carat equals 0.2 grams. Dimond under cart, each carat is divided into 100 points, like to pennies in a dollar.
