In 1889 the University of Northern Colorado was established .the university main college is situated in Greeley, Colorado, about an hour north of Denver, with long campus location in Loveland, Denver and Colorado springs. Founded as the state common school of Colorado, the university has deep history in teacher education, and was an beginning creator in the field. In 1911 the University of northern Colorado name was changed to Colorado state teachers college by the state governmental body. The university was providing four years of under graduate work and allows the Bachelor of Arts degree.   The name of Colorado state college of education was adopted to identify the fully developed graduate plans, which was established in 1913. Beginning in 1957 the state governmental body accepted shortening the name to Colorado state college again to identify the further growth of plans and providing.
